Gonna answer some anons in bulk real quick:

For most of my work here, I sketch out in Flash and then cleanup in Photoshop (and then composite/add effects in AfterEffects but that isn’t essential). Here’s the rough of that old Gengar gif I did in Flash followed by the cleanup in Photoshop:

You can pretty much do everything in Photoshop, but it’s a clunkier process. I’m down to do a more thorough tutorial in the future if that would help people out!
